About PanelTalk

PanelTalk magazine is the official journal of the New Zealand Collision Repair Association (CRA).

The magazine, however, enjoys editorial independence from the CRA and is focused on reporting all relevant events and trends that affect the collision repair industry in New Zealand. The editor travels extensively and has great relationships with many overseas collision repair magazines to ensure that the content is as up to date and relevant as possible.

PanelTalk is, without doubt, the leading collision repair magazine in the country with a circulation of just under three thousand direct mailed copies of each issue.

PanelTalk Editor

Rex Crowther

Editor

Rex Crowther has been involved in New Zealand’s Collision Repair Industry in numerous guises since 1967 when he began his career as an apprentice panelbeater.

Rex owned Auckland Panel & Paint Group Ltd, one of New Zealand’s largest collision repair facilities, for 28 years, before selling it in 2008.

Rex has also been very involved in the collision repair industry outside of owning his own business. He was Executive Chairman of the New Zealand Collision Repair Association (CRA) from 1999 – 2004 and served on the board of I-CAR NZ for ten years including two as Chairman before stepping down in April 2017. Rex was also on the board of the Motor Industry Training Organisation (MITO) from 2004 – 2014.

After selling his business, Rex enjoyed close to two years of living the dream in retirement, enjoying his hobbies of golf, boating and travel. But he became bored and so took on the role of publishing editor of PanelTalk magazine.

Rex is passionate about the collision repair industry and keen to help people on their journey from collision repairer to successful business owner.

PanelTalk Designer

Rebecca Tune

Designer

I am a Graphic Designer and Artist.

I take care of the PanelTalk magazine for Neil and Rex doing the graphic design, layout and artistic direction and generally hassling the guys to get their articles to me on time!

I also take care of any CRA and I-CAR NZ graphic jobs that need doing and look after the CRA and I-CAR NZ Facebook page.

When not working for the CRA I am either doing graphic work for other clients or painting in my studio.

Week days are always hectic so I tend to escape the city in the weekend with my family to bush and coastal walk and generally touch base with nature.
